Grade 3

The Curse of Aurora is a show based on the tale of Sleeping Beauty. The pre-show starts with Lana Del Rey's track of Once Upon a Dream from the movie Maleficent. The band enters with Tchaikovsky's introduction to his ballet Sleeping Beauty.

The first movement starts with the royal family and the birth of Aurora. The show can be done with or without narration.

The second movement takes place during Aurora's christening. The curse is placed on her during this movement. Aurora grows up, and at the end of the movement, pricks her finger on the spindle, placing her into a deep, dark sleep.

The third movement is about Aurora's beauty. As she lies sleeping, the prince discovers her and begins to fall in love.

The beginning of the fourth movement begins with the prince fighting to find out the truth of Aurora's sleep. Once he discovers it, he rushes back to her, kisses her, and the two live happily ever after.
